Although Platinum Ogon do not possess the interesting and intricate patterns of many other koi varieties, their bright metallic sheen will stand out noticeably in any pond, and they can provide a beautiful balance to your multi-colored koi varieties.
What To Look For with Platinum Ogon
An unblemished body with good scalation is very important in Platinum Ogon. Since they are solid colored with no pattern, any blemish or scar on the body will stand out very noticeably.
A clear, unblemished head is also very important. A blemished or dirty head on a Platinum Ogon will detract greatly from the overall beauty of the koi.
The white color of the head and body should be a bright, stunning white with a metallic sheen. Beware of extremely light-colored Yamabuki Ogon that are passed off as Platinum Ogon.
